Authorship & Interaction
Forking Pathways
Tina gets soaked by a car and a big puddle.
The tills all suddenly close due to prayer time.
She wants to go pay but she sees that only one till is open and there is a big queue.
As she gets on the bus, she realizes her oyster has expired.
She reaches Tesco and starts her shopping.
As she enters her pin, her card gets declined.
finally the police arrest her.

In this task we were put in groups and we had to create a story, each person in the group had to re-create a section of the story on paper. We then created our section of the story on the computer and we linked it to the next part of the story however the person that starts the story must link it to the home page. After that task we were also able to link it to another groups story however it had to have a link.
Flowchart is a visual representation of a process we make.
On the left is a timeline of the story we created.
Tina goes to Tesco.
Link to My
Story
Using Adobe Illustrator I was able to re-create my drawing. On the right is a link, when clicked it will direct you to my section of the page.

The arrow directed to the left is a link to the main page where all the stories start from. the first arrow on the right is a link to the next stage of our story, 'Tina goes to Tesco'.
The second arrow underneath that is a link to someone else's story which is linked to my story.
I looked at different stories that were created within different groups and I choose to link the animated stage to my part of the story. I thought they would link as in my picture it shows tina's card got declined and in the link it shows the glasses dropping to the floor. I felt as if the card got declined and the owner was not able to purchase the glasses so they fall to the ground.
Flow charts and Browser based
The first thing I did was to identify the different sections and web pages that I would have on my website. I knew that my starting point on the flowchart would be my homepage for the website, where all the other web pages would connect to and from it.

After doing this, I was able to make my own site map for my website on paper. On the right is a link that explains how to create a flowchart for a website.
A flow chart is a process of something in the making from start to finish, within a flow chart you can see what goes on exactly. For example every discussion made will be shown
''A flowchart is a graphical representation of decisions and the results of those decisions mapped out in individual shapes that was developed by Herman Goldstine and John von Neumann in the 1940's. Flowcharts allow for a step-by-step diagram to be drawn out that help describe complex situations such as the steps in programming code or troubleshooting a computer. ''
Below are some examples of flowcharts used within schools and within the industry.
Wthin a flow chart to show you are making a decision or giving and receiving something it has to be shown using these symbols.
Once I have understood what a flow chart is and what it represents I am going to look at my chosen game, 'Star Wars'. In this game I am going to look at what different options I have and to see if this game is non linear or linear narrative.
In the picture on the left it demonstrates a conversation between my character and another within the game. I realized that this game is very open as I have many choices to pick when answering . This broadens the interactivity within a game as you are able to explore many areas without restrictions. This sort of style within a game will make the digital game more interactive and will make the user the author of the game as they are deciding exactly what to do next and where to go.

NON LINEAR NARRATIVE:
This means a number of events not set in chronological order, there is not a set outcome, you may start from one point and end up somewhere unexpected. it does not follow a set pattern of events.
When I opened up the digital game of star wars I had various options to go to a certain places, to choose a side, to choose a weapon.

I got sent on a mission to an underground world. On the left there is pictures of my flowchart that I have created specially for that mission to see how I am managing this task and how many choices i have within this particular game.
My Website
Creating my buttons for my website:

Initially I had a sketch of what my home button and icons were going to look like so I used the sketches and re created that on Adobe Illustrator. I have shown a step by step development of my icons and how I have created them.
